The gunfire was surrounding the team. They thought that this would be a routine operation, even after being tipped off by the British, they were sent in to check something out, but they didn't expect this.
"IT'S THE FUCKING BRITISH!" A member of the team yelled aloud, just as his body began convulsing backwards as it was being pumped with heavy bullet fire.
"Nomad, other than our communications, anything within a five mile radius is knocked out, there is no one but us that can actually hear what we are saying!" The navigations captain yelled through his mouthpiece, at the captain who crouched behind wooden crates, ducking from the heavy British bullet fire.
The thing was, they were sent out here to investigate an old Axis fueling village in their area, but they weren't supposed to come under any fire, but they had come prepared just in case. They had reports that terrorists were using this village to get ready for some sort of attack, but to come under fire, from their own allies, but for all they knew, this was a rogue source of fire.
The captain, who went by the callsign of 'Nomad' was trying his best to keep his squad under control, but this was not an easy job as they were heavily out numbered. They needed to get someone to their helicopter, but this would not be an easy feat. The door was on the other side of the room, where they had entered, before they were caught by the ambush.
"Scratch, are you ready to go?" Nomad said quickly into his mouthpiece, as the fastest runner on his team was preparing to make an exit.
"As ready as I'll ever be!"
"Well, we'll cover you in five, get ready." Nomad said quickly as he got ready to pop his head out from the cover, as the fire from in front of them slowly died down, as the British were trying to work out if they were dead. Quickly jumping up after a good five seconds, he made the run that felt like it would never end as the British on the other side of the ring, momentarily stopped their fire.
'What the fuck are they up to?' Nomad began to think, before he spotted something come flying out onto the ground just in front of Scratch or rather 4 somethings. They wouldn't do this in such close quarters! It was suicidal!. In under 3 seconds, it would detonate and send small pieces of metal flying around the room, but the thing was, they had no cover. They had nothing to protect themselves.
That was when Nomad noticed what they were pulling up, and with the fragmentation grenades little more than 5 metres away from them, with just one second to go, Nomad knew that he was done for.
